What We Do

Since 1979, the Little Compton Tree Committee has been the primary caretaker of the trees on town property and along town roads throughout our beautiful town,
such as…

PRESERVING & MAINTAINING public and heritage trees – such as the American Elm at the Brownell House, the Centennial Weeping Beech at Veterans Field and by caging 30 White and Red Oak saplings in Wilbur Woods to protect them from the deer predation.

PLANNING & PLANTING - We distribute at-cost trees to homeowners - increasing our much-needed shade canopy and diversifying the variety of species across town. Over 100 native trees and shrubs found new homes in our local community this year.

EDUCATING & ADVISING – Maybe you visited us at one of the town events with our low-cost reference materials. Or maybe your schoolchild has experienced one of our programs and learned all about the longest-lived organisms in our town!
